Ed Louwes deserves a retrial? He deserves freedom

Deventer Murder

In an evening filling broadcast, Dutch newsprogram 'Nova' presented the facts in the 'Deventer moord' (Deventer murder) in wich accountant Ed Louwes has been convicted. As had already been clear to most people, except the judicial system and Peter R de Vries, the evidence on which Ed Louwes has been convicted to a 12 year sentence, was very very shaky if not non-existent.

The 'Hoge raad' (High Court) has now ordered that the 'klusjesman' (a man doing odd jobs) must be heard, after a recent re-testification of the caretaker of the cemetary, who had testified for the high court that the 'klusjesman' gave him details on the murder before the murder of the widow Witteveen was even discovered. He had given a similar testimony years ago to the police, who forged the time line and subsequently discarded the testimony that would imply the 'klusjesman'
